Which Indian cities do you teach Bharatanatyam online in?
We teach live online Bharatanatyam classes to families in Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Delhi, Gurugram, Noida, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Lucknow, Hyderabad, Chennai, Coimbatore, Mysore, Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram, Visakhapatnam, Kolkata, Bhubaneswar, and anywhere else in India. Each city has its own page with the local context and the areas we already teach in. Students in Bengaluru itself can attend our HSR Layout studio in person instead.
What are the online class timings?
Classes run Wednesday & Friday, 5:00 to 6:00 PM IST; Wednesday & Friday, 6:00 to 7:00 PM IST; Sunday, 3:00 to 4:30 PM IST. Every Indian city is on IST, so you join exactly the same batches as our Bengaluru studio students, no time difference to manage.
Are online classes as good as attending a studio?
For technique correction, theory, abhinaya and steady graded progress, live online classes work very well, the guru sees you on screen and corrects you in real time, and batches are kept small. What online cannot replicate is dancing in a room with other students; for families with no classically trained teacher nearby, or facing an hour of city traffic each way, that trade is usually worth making.
Which languages are the classes taught in?
English, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Hindi and Malayalam. Tell us which language the student follows most easily and we place them in a batch accordingly.
Can beginners and young children join online?
Yes. We teach children from age five, teenagers, adult beginners with no dance background, and trained dancers returning after a break. Beginners start with the foundational adavus, correct araimandi and basic tala.
