Learning Bharatanatyam in Gurugram

Gurugram's population is young, corporate and largely first-generation to the city. Cultural infrastructure has not kept up with the condominiums: dance classes inside societies are common, classically trained Bharatanatyam gurus are not.

The Gurugram families we teach usually tried a society class first and found it was choreography without foundation. They came to us for the graded syllabus, adavus in order, tala understood, abhinaya taught rather than imitated.

How the Classes Work

Free trial first

Live, never recorded

Every session is a live video class. The guru watches your araimandi and rhythm on screen and corrects you in the moment.

Three sessions a week

Two weekday classes plus the longer Sunday session, so new material is taught and then consolidated rather than rushed.

Why learn online from a Bengaluru academy instead of a local class in Gurugram?

The Gurugram families we teach usually tried a society class first and found it was choreography without foundation. They came to us for the graded syllabus, adavus in order, tala understood, abhinaya taught rather than imitated. Gurugram's population is young, corporate and largely first-generation to the city. Cultural infrastructure has not kept up with the condominiums: dance classes inside societies are common, classically trained Bharatanatyam gurus are not.

Can complete beginners and young children in Gurugram join?

Yes. We teach children from age five, teenagers, adult beginners with no dance background, and trained dancers returning after a break. Beginners start with the foundational adavus, correct araimandi and basic tala, exactly as our studio beginners do.

Which languages are the Gurugram online classes taught in?

Classes for Gurugram students commonly run in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. Tell us which the student follows most easily and we will place them accordingly.

What do we need at home in Gurugram to join?

A laptop, tablet or phone with a camera, a reliable internet connection, and about two metres of clear floor space, a hard floor is better than carpet. We check the setup with you during the free trial class.

Do you teach Sanskrit shlokas to Gurugram students as well?

Yes. Our shlokas and devotional recitation programme runs online alongside the dance, and many Gurugram families take both together.

How do we book a free trial class from Gurugram?

WhatsApp +91 96116 21086 with your area in Gurugram, the student's age and any previous dance experience. We will suggest a batch and arrange a free trial class, no payment and no commitment before that.
