Learning Bharatanatyam in Mysore
Mysore carries its own royal patronage tradition of dance and Carnatic music, and Dasara keeps a real performance calendar alive. Bharatanatyam teaching here is respected but limited in number, and batch availability is tight.
Mysore is close enough to Bengaluru that families sometimes ask about the studio, but a 150 km round trip for a weekly class is not sustainable. Our live online batches give Mysore students the same teaching without it.

Can complete beginners and young children in Mysore join?
Yes. We teach children from age five, teenagers, adult beginners with no dance background, and trained dancers returning after a break. Beginners start with the foundational adavus, correct araimandi and basic tala, exactly as our studio beginners do.

What do we need at home in Mysore to join?
A laptop, tablet or phone with a camera, a reliable internet connection, and about two metres of clear floor space, a hard floor is better than carpet. We check the setup with you during the free trial class.
Do you teach Sanskrit shlokas to Mysore students as well?
Yes. Our shlokas and devotional recitation programme runs online alongside the dance, and many Mysore families take both together.
