Nrithyakshetra teaches Chennai students live online from Bengaluru. We are not trying to replace Chennai's own tradition, we teach in it. What we offer is continuity and reach: the same guru every week, a small live batch, and the graded curriculum followed without interruption.

Learning Bharatanatyam in Chennai
Chennai is where Bharatanatyam lives, Mylapore, the December Margazhi season, the sabhas, the great teaching lineages. We say that plainly: if you are in Mylapore or Adyar and can reach a good teacher on foot, do that.
The Chennai families we teach are mostly on the OMR and Porur corridors, where the commute into the traditional dance neighbourhoods is an hour each way, or families who moved from Bengaluru and want to keep the same guru and the same syllabus rather than restart under a new teacher.

Free trial first
We start with a free trial class so you can meet the guru and see the teaching style before paying anything.
Live, never recorded
Every session is a live video class. The guru watches your araimandi and rhythm on screen and corrects you in the moment.
Three sessions a week
Two weekday classes plus the longer Sunday session, so new material is taught and then consolidated rather than rushed.
The full tradition
Adavus, mudras, tala, abhinaya and margam repertoire, with Sanskrit shlokas available alongside.

No prior experience needed. Our beginner programme builds a strong classical foundation, from basic adavus and mudras to rhythmic training and expressive abhinaya.

What do we need at home in Chennai to join?
